01 / GET CONNECTED

Five steps. Then you’re in.

Recommended · r2modman

Use the shared profile to get the same mod versions as everyone else. The dedicated server does not download client mods for you.

  1. Install r2modman

    Open the official download page and choose Manual Download. On Windows, extract the ZIP, run the r2modman Setup installer and follow its prompts.

    On Linux, follow the Linux instructions on that same page.

  2. Select Valheim

    Open r2modman, find Valheim in the game list and select it. Choose Steam if asked for your platform.

  3. Import our profile

    On the profile selection screen, choose Import / Update → Import new profile → From code. Paste the code below, finish importing, then select the imported profile. Let all downloads finish.

    Need a profile code? Ask the administrator, or use the manual setup fallback with their version list.

  4. Launch with Start modded

    With the server profile selected and its mods enabled, click Start modded in r2modman. Allow the first launch a little extra time.

    Use this button each time you play here. A normal vanilla Steam launch won’t load the profile’s mods.

  5. Join SorSorlandet

    In Valheim, choose your character, open Join Game and search the community server list for the name below. Select the server and enter the password shared by the administrator.

    Ask the administrator for the direct game address, then use Join Game’s Add server option.

Next time, it’s just two steps: open this profile in r2modman, click Start modded, then join the server.

These seven mods make up our client setup. Importing the profile also installs any supporting dependencies. Keep the profile’s versions aligned with the server.

We link the current Ymiron implementation because the original Build_Camera package is deprecated. Use the administrator’s tested profile versions.

Manual setupFallback · importing the shared profile is easier

Ask the administrator for the server-tested versions first. Picking the latest version of every mod may create a mismatch.

  1. In r2modman’s profile selection screen, choose Create new, name your profile and select it.
  2. Open Online. Use the seven Thunderstore links above to identify each package, then install the administrator’s versions of the four Required mods and three QoL mods. Accept their dependencies.
  3. For ValheimPlus, choose ValheimPlus_Grantapher_Temporary by Grantapher. For Build Camera, choose BuildCamera_Ymiron by Ymiron, with the administrator’s tested version. Don’t install multiple camera packages.
  4. Check that the mods are enabled under Installed, then click Start modded and follow step 5 above.

Installing without a manager? Follow BepInExPack Valheim’s manual instructions first, then each linked package’s instructions and dependencies. You’ll need to maintain matching versions yourself.

03 / VANILLA, WITH A LITTLE MORE EASE

What changes from vanilla?

The adventure stays familiar.

Combat, bosses, biome progression and the fundamental Valheim progression loop remain essentially vanilla.

Our aim is less friction in everyday tasks. The mods do make small convenience changes; this isn’t a promise of identical balance.

Something not working?

Revisit setup

“Incompatible version” or can’t join?

Let Steam finish updating Valheim. Open r2modman and check that you’re using the current server profile with its matching mod versions. If the server hasn’t updated yet, ask the administrator.

The game starts, but the mods don’t?

Close Valheim. Select our profile in r2modman, make sure its mods are enabled and click Start modded. A vanilla Steam launch won’t load them.

ValheimPlus mismatch?

Update or re-import the shared profile as instructed by the administrator. The ValheimPlus package and version must match the server.

Something broke after an update?

Open r2modman, update or re-import the shared profile if instructed, check that mods are enabled, then launch modded again. Ask the administrator before trying different mod versions at random.
